MXI file extension

Adobe Extension Manager (application that is used for organizing Adobe Creative Suite software extensions) file that is used to describe an MXP extension archive and stores the extension's name, version number and type. This file also contains information about every file stored with the extension. MXI files provide data when browsing extensions in Extension Manager.

Maxwell Render (photorealistic graphics rendering software) image format file with high dynamic range (HDR) picture data, extra render channels (depth buffer, shadow channel, etc) and lighting adjustments for every emitter contribution. This file is rendered from an MXS 3D scene file or from another imported graphic format and serves as the default output format for rendered graphics. MXI files store lighting information and the calculations for the light conditions in the scene. This enables users to fine tune or recompute light preferences in future renderings. Users may pause rendering process and continue it at a later time. This is useful to produce partial previews. Maxwell graphics are used to create photorealistic graphics for film, animation, architecture, interior design and product design.
