MOD file extension

FastTracker, StarTracker, Noise Tracker or other MOD generating software default music module format that is recognized by most audio tracking applications. MOD files store note patterns (like MIDI files) and sound samples used for various instruments. Sound samples are assigned to various tracks within the module and are played back according to the notes from the score.

Created using the Fortran programming language compiled application file. It is generated for every module declaration within the Fortran source code. This file groups related procedures and information together in a single file that may be referenced by other application units. These Fortran files are "intermediate" files that shoud not be opened manually. They can be referenced by Fortran compilers.

Neverwinter Nights (NWN) video game series module file with all the locations, creatures, items and other elements used in an NWN adventure. These files are located in the "Neverwinter Nights 2/modules/" folder. Aurora Neverwinter Nights Toolset (module building utility created by BioWare) can be used to create and modify NWN modules.

ArchiCAD architectural design software file that is used for adding additional functions and capabilities. It can be provided with the program or generated by the user.

GRUB (GRand Unified Bootloader - a boot loader that is used to load several operating systems) program module with a GRUB module that is loaded by GRUB 2 dynamically only if required for the specific boot process. GRUB 2 was slightly redesigned to be modular. This design enables a smaller footprint for the boot loader since only needed modules are loaded. MOD files are stored in the "/boot/grub/" or "/boot/grub2/" folders.

Recorded using a JVC EVERIO digital camcorder (for example EVERIO GZ-MC100, MG130, MG7230 and MG630) or using Canon FS and Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders video file that uses MPEG2 compression for video and MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2 compression for the audio track. Program provided with the digital camcorder can be used to open and export MOD files to other video file formats.
