GPS file extension

Survey Pro (software that is used with Tripod Data Systems GPS data collectors) file with latitude and longitude coordinate control points recorded during geographical surveying. The file is used for calibrating GPS coordinates with known locations. Choose the "Job" → "Import Coordinates" function within Survey Pro to import GPS files.

GenePix Pro (microarray image analysis application) file with such preferences for acquisition as: the last used, voltages and scan area; for analysis: location and identification of features on the image; for display: brightness, contrast and color mappings of an image.

GOM Player (Windows video playback application) skin file with a package of graphic files and XML specification files for the skin. The file enables users to change the appearance of the player and may be installed by double-clicking the file. Typically GPS files are ZIP files with BMP image files and two XML files: "LIST.xml" and "SKIN.xml". These XML files contain the information about how each bitmap image in the package is displayed for the skin. These images may be applied to application frames, buttons, sliders, logos and other elements of the interface. Change the file's extension to ".zip" to open it with any ZIP compatible decompression utility.
