Various Windows applications metafile image originally created to scale pictures on output devices. This file includes a picture and metafile header information. The file is similar to WMF file except that it stores a preceding 22-byte header. APM files must first be stripped of their 22-byte header that may be done using the Microsoft application "Wmapmf.exe". After that these files may be used by the Windows API metafile functions GetMetaFile(), CopyMetaFile() and PlayMetaFile().
