Different Mozilla programs (for example Firefox, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey) compressed installation package with the main components installed with the program or a program extension, like a Web-browser addon. XPI files may be installed by dragging and dropping the file onto an open Web browser window. XPInstall component (that contains Mozilla installer script) is used for installing the XPI packages.
