FDT file extension

Cognos Impromptu (software that is used to produce reports from several information sources) file with database data that is generated when Impromptu opens an INI file with data about a database that is compatible with the program. These files are used to cache data about underlying information sources.

Lucene (text searching library that is written using Java) data file with "stored fields" that are text strings stored in the search index. This file is used to store text that may be searched with the Lucene search engine.

FormDocs (software that is used to generate structured forms) document template with several forms, their layouts and fields. This file may contain labelsm checkboxes, text boxes and other page design elements for every form. Templates are used to create FormDocs forms (FDD files) that may be filled by the user.

Final Draft (software that is used to author movie, TV and stage play scripts) template file with the standard document text and formatting used to generate a new FDX Final Draft document. This template enables several scripts to adopt similar structure. Version 8 of Final Draft program use FDXT files to store templates instead of FDT files used by versions 5-7 of the software.
