XAF file extension

3ds Max modeling and animation program XML file with motion data for a biped that is a model with two-feet. This file allows modelers to accurately record human and creature movements for video games, movies and other three-dimensional animations. XAF files may be reused across several biped models and also may be a part of a 3ds Max Mixer mix (MIX file) that enables animators to composite an animation on a multi-track timeline.

Cal3D (open source toolkit that is used for character animation) three-dimensional animation file with bone movements for the model's skeleton that is defined in a CSF or XSF file. This file is used to produce realistic human motions. XAF files contain animation information in an XML format, but Cal3D animation information may be also saved using a binary format in CAF files.
