TRX file extension

Several embedded computer devices (for example Linksys WT54G router series) firmware image file with the firmware image contents and a header that is used to provide the file length, a checksum and the partition offsets within the file. This file is used for recovering or updating the firmware on a device. TRX files may be distributed in BIN format that usually is a vendor-specific variation of a TRX file.

WebAuthorize (software that is used to process credit card transactions) batch file with a list of 11 transaction fields for transaction ID, credit card number, credit card expire, credit card auth name, AVS, zip code, amount, customer ID and invoice ID. TRX files are used for processing a batch of credit cardd transactions using an automated system and usually are comprised of a full day of business transactions used in e-commerce.

Visual Studio (Microsoft program that is used for creating Windows applications) test results file with test results saved using an XML formatting and used to show test results in Visual Studio and store historical test case results. TRX files can also be produced with Microsoft MSTest (command-line tool that executes unit tests generated using Visual Studio 2005 and newer). MSTest.exe application executable file has many command-line features that may be used for customizing the output of tests. These results may be saved to the file by selecting the "Export Test Run Results" option within Visual Studio.

PASSOLO (software that is used to translate user interfaces to different languages) translation list file with a list of strings saved in various languages. This file is used within a specific application to recognize key phrases and translate them from one language to another. TRX files become locked after they have been exported and cannot be edited again in PASSOLO.
