PRT file extension

Pro/ENGINEER (CAD software that is used for designing manufactured parts and assembly processes) part file with part data, its three-dimensional model and structure. It may be combined with the other parts into an assembly (ASM) file.

Solid Edge (CAD software that is mostly used to generate industrial parts and assemblies) three-dimensional model file that may be combined with the other three-dimensional parts into an assembly (ASM) file.

Unigraphics (3D CAD software) 3D model format that includes surface and solid data for a single part. It is stored using a binary format, similar to an Alias wire model and a Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC) model. Unigraphics is provided as Siemens NX after acquiring by Siemens.

Corel Presentations (software that is provided with Corel WordPerfect Office) presentation template file with a slide style and layout which may be used to generate new SHW presentations.

This file stores configuration data which enables the computer to communicate with the printer. It can be used by specific applications (for example Dr. Halo program) that save pictures in a device-independent format.

Crypt Edit ( a free application that is used for word processing) secured text document with an encrypted and password-protected data. It can include text, graphics and page formatting data and is used for saving documents securely. Crypt Edit software is no longer developed.

This file contains an output from a printing job that was sent to the printer and stored as a file. It includes formatting data which tells the printer how the document will be printed. FILEUTIL function with a Filename option can be used for generating PRT files on Unix systems. These files may be also opened using FILEUTIL and printed with the LP (line printer) option.
