PPF file extension

Edgecam (computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software that is used for designing machine components) part file with a part or component model, its geometry, toolpaths, numerical control (NC) information, machine code, display textures, material specifications and other part parameters. PPF files are used for saving and loading part project data. They can be used for producing automated machine processes.

PUBLISHER (advanced translation memory solution used to translate documentation) project file with translated documents stored in a bilingual format using an object-oriented database. Optimized PPF database can contain text and binary elements.

Transit NXT (software that is used for language translation and localization) project file with language terms and phrases and their translations into another language. PPF files are used for saving all project data and are stored as a compressed files. After translating a PPF file the translator sends a resulting TPF pack translation file back to the project manager.

This is a patch file format that is often used to update video game ROMs. It was originally created to update PlayStation games, but may be also used for patching NES, SNES, N64 and PSP video games. PPF Studio and PPF-O-Matic applications are used for generating and opening these files. They are similar to IPS patch files, but are not limited to patch the first 16MB of a file. So PPF files may be also used for patching ISO disk images, like CDs and DVDs.

Corel Picture Publisher (software that was previously maintained by Micrografx) graphic file with a bitmap picture that may be generated and modified using different text, drawing and painting utilities in Picture Publisher. Picture Publisher versions 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 use PPF files, previous versions use PP4 and PP5 files. The program is no longer supported, but PPF files may be opened using CorelDRAW Graphics Suite.
