PCSX2 (PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulation software) file with a saved snapshot of the state of the emulation application while playing a game. This file enables players to load an emulated state and to resume the game from the state exactly as it was recorded. P2S files are located in the "/PCSX2/sstates/" folder of a user's home directory by default. P2S files differ from previously used (before releasing PCSX2 version 0.9.8) save states files, that were saved without any file extension. They use different formatting and are not compatible with each other.
