Windows mobile devices encrypted file that is usually located on removable media cards. This file stores an encrypted version of the original file and additional header data. The file allows secure file storage on external storage cards. MENC files were developed to be decrypted by the device that generated the file. MENC files may be transferred to a PC with Windows ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, but it may not be possible to decrypt these files on the computer. File encrypting can be turned off in the settings tab of the program.
