This file is a disk image that uses the Error Code Modeler (ECM) format. It allows the CD images to be reduced in size to transfer them over the Internet. Usually this technology is used to compress game console disk images. ECM files can be created from disk images such as BIN, CDI, NRG and CCD files. After encoding to the ECM format it can be compressed with RAR compression or another algorithm to get 15-20% smaller disk file size than the original one. The original image can be restored from the ECM file with a decompression utility called "unecm.exe"
