Unix sendmail application properties file that specifies the SMTP server, mail relay hosts and other properties. The file uses a plain text formatting and is compiled using the Unix M4 macro processor every time sendmail is run. The default sendmail configuration file has a filename "sendmail.cf" and is located in the "/etc/mail/" folder. Do not confuse CF files with CFM files that are ColdFusion Markup files.
