CAF file extension

 Cal3D (free toolkit that is used to model and animate characters) three-dimensional animation file with motion preferences for the model's skeleton. This file defines rotations and movements for the model's bones over time. CAF files are used to create realistic human motions for characters. These files may define animations for walking, running or other movements. XAF files store Cal3D animations in an XML format.

Based on Apple Core Audio technology digital audio format with audio information, text annotations, markers, channel layouts and other data. This file is similar to AIFF or WAVE file, but without a 4GB file size limit and may include any number of audio channels. CAF audio format is compatible with Mac OS X programs that incorporate the Corel Audio API (for example QuickTime Player 7 and newer).

Class Action Gradebook (software that is used to organize classroom data) gradebook file with student data, seating arrangements, homework assignments, awarded grades and other class information. CAF files are used to manage gradebook information and print reports. Teachers may create such reports as classroom grade summaries, individual student reports, parent letters and class and assignment graphs. Every report may be customized. Secondary and College versions of Class Action Gradebook produce CAF files.

CryENGINE SDK (software that is used to develop video games) file with character animation information which was compiled from a CHR character file using a CBA compiler specification file. Final game builds use DBA database animation files which are generated from CAF files.
