Maya (professional 3D modeling software) three-dimensional animation file with references to objects and their animation settings. This file stores keyframes that are used to define anchor points of the animation as well as rotations and the timeline. ANIM files enable modelers to generate smooth motions by specifying a number of intermediate frames between keyframes that are rendered automatically by a graphics engine.

Unity (3D game development application) animation file that was generated using Unity Animation View program and includes an animation clip. This file is used to define the moving parts of three-dimensional game elements using animation curves and events and may be scripted using the Unity scripting engine. Choose "Window" → "Animation" within the Unity program to open the Unity Animation View.
