Microsoft Access (desktop database software) database project file with all information stored in an ADP project file, except the modules that are created using the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming language, are compiled and the source code is removed. ADE files are compressed so that they reduce the file size and optimize performance in Access, but all database components from an ADE file behave in the same manner as the existing ADP project file.
